A very charming watercolour of a snow covered branch with yellow flowers and a pair of orange birds, huddled together by E. Christoffel, a female painter who worked in the 1930s to 1950s as a book illustrator for the Ars Sacra Josef Müller Company in Munich. This painting is in the style of Japanese/Chinese watercolours, possibly done for a presentation book of proverbs.
Ms Christoffel made a name for herself by painting very detailed nature scenes. This painting is part of a very large collection
