copper engraved map with old colouring; Overall 52 x 63 cm; fold as issued; lower folds re-enforced/ repaired; some minor marginal tears/ edges frayed; some faint staining/ foxing; o/w vg cond.

Very decorative double-hemisphere world map by Homann Heirs. The map is surrounded by four polar projections and two projections of the Earth in relation to the solar system. The Latin and French titles are in two very elaborate scroll cartouches above the map.
