steel engraved map with original outline colouring; overall 44 x 73 cm; image 39 x 69 cm. folds as issued; paper evenly toned with some stains and foxing; some minor marginal tears not affecting image; split c’fold at both ends; o/w vg cond.

A very attractive and detailed map of Australia with listing all of the counties and two insets: one of Tasmania and one of the World.

The Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge (SDUK), was founded in 1826, with the object of publishing information to people who were unable to obtain formal teaching, or who preferred self-education.
