A beautifully engraved map of North America, engraved by Johannes Bussemacher, for Quad’s atlas ‘Geographisch Handtbuch’. The map is a reduced version of Cornelius de Jode’s map of North America with a representation of the Northwest passage, a second Florida peninsula and Virginia placed too far South as well as the exclusion of certain names like Roanoke and Chesapeake.
