copper engraved map on four sheets joined, with some original colouring and added recent hand colouring; overall 46 x 41,5 cm; plate c 42 x 41 cm. folds as issued; joined; indistinctive plate mark left and right; false left margin; extensive repair to one of the folds but expertly executed; marginal spots and some minor tears; o/w vg cond.

A detailed map of the surrounds of London from ‘Gentleman’s Magazine’, covering the areas from Enfield to Epsom, and Hounslow to Dartford, giving good detail of today’s Greater London.

The map was published in four separate issues of the Gentleman’s Magazine, an English periodical, that flourished between c1731 and 1922.
