This map shows the West Coast of Central America from Acapulco, Mexico down to Tierra del Fuego, South America, with two insets of St. Franciscus Bay on Tierra del Fuego and the entire West Coast of South America. Very decorative cartouche, compass rose and scrollwork surrounding the insets. North is to the Left. Explanations within map. German text.
Johann Joachim Schwabe (1714 -1784) was a German historian, librarian, philosopher and translator. He translated Prevost’s ‘Histoire générale des voyages’ which contains maps by Bellin into German.
